Can anyone confirm/deny if it is still possible to buy games on steam and redeem them on Origin? Posting for others' reference in the future - the answer (as of 6/27/14) is yes! All you need to do is start downloading the game in Steam, and as soon as the download begins, then the 'View CD Key' option will show up when you right-click the game in your Steam library. I looked in my Steam library after that, and when I right click on the game it does not give me the option of 'View CD key' (which some games do). The SP Flash Tool is having problems with reading the MTK smartphone or tablet device. Try a different port on the PC or another PC. Right-click flashtool.exe > Select Properties > Select Compatibility > Set to Windows XP Service Pack 3 > Click Apply > Click OK > Run SP flash tool as Administrator. But alas, it was only on sale for 4 more hours and I really wanted to go to sleep so I just bought the EP (and I had to buy the base game on Steam too so that I could get the DLC, but hey, it was only $7). Fix: Load the correct scatter file and try flashing again. Try using a different USB cord, port and PC. However, I couldn't find anything more recent than about a year ago confirming this fact. I was eyeing up a Sims 3 EP on the Steam summer sale last night, and I was poking around the internet and it seemed like I could buy the game through Steam and it would give me a CD key that I could then redeem through Origin (where I have the rest of my Sims 3 games).
